#012 – In this episode, we will take a quick look at 5 “lessons learned” from the current COVID-19 crisis. And while these takeaways are meaningful at any time, they are even more evident in times of crisis.
Show notes
In this episode, we talked about the 5 Takeaways For Nursing Career Success:
- There are good companies and bad companies out there to work for.
- Keep yourself marketable.
- Relationships matter.
- You never know when opportunity will knock.
- Even in times like this, there’s a lot of good going in on the world. Focus on the good and in making this world a better place.
I talked about a lot of takeaways in this episode. You can focus on just one at a time and do what you can.

Hello. I’m currently on admin leave due to Covid. I started a new job before the leave in case mgmt. This is a new role for me. They use Cerner for documenting. Did you say that YOU have a CM program OR is there somewhere online to review so I can be better equipped when I go back to work, which I believe is June 6 as of right now. ? . Thank you. Vicki Sharpe, RN
Hi Vicki,
We have a course that teaches CM. I will link to it below. We offer 2 options, Foundations of Case Management which will teach you what you need to be equipped when you go back to work. This course is $897 https://casemanagementinstitute.com/foundations-of-case-management-course/
For those who use MCG, we offer the same Foundations of Case Management/Utilization Management/MCG Course. This course is $1297 which is a $500 savings off of purchasing the 2 courses separately.
(we are currently updating the course to offer these 2 options, so depending on when you click the link you may still see the combined course only)
MCG is a software program used to determine if medical necessity is met. It is used by many insurance companies and hospitals. If your company does not use it you will not need this option.
Cerner is a documentation system, which is different than what MCG does. MCG is comparable to Interqual. As I mentioned, we are currently making some updates. We will be putting the courses on sale for a discounted price for 1 week when they are ready. If you are interested in being notified when we have sales.
