#016 – Nurses, let’s face it! You will never get rich working for someone else. How do I define rich? As having the lifestyle, financial, and time freedom that I want. And in this episode, we will talk about just that.
There are limitless opportunities for entrepreneurs but you have to invest in yourself. In this episode, we will delve deeper into each of these.

Getting Paid to Write as a Nurse: Now more than ever there is a demand for Nurse writers. Nurses are supplementing their income from the comfort of their own home. Some of them are even going full time with their writing. And the best part is, you don’t have to have any previous writing experience to get started.
This week on The Stay At Home Nurse Podcast, we have a very special guest with us, Janine Kelbach, RNC-OB. Janine shares how she started writing and how she now helps others to do the same. You won’t want to miss this episode. Grab a cup of your favorite drink, sit back, and enjoy the show.
As nurses, we are accustomed to having job security based on the fact that people everywhere get sick or injured and need our services. But when you are no longer working bedside doing hands-on patient care, how secure is your job?
In this episode, we are going to look at one popular places nurses move to when working beyond the bedside, the insurance company, and discuss how secure those jobs are, steps you can take to increase your job security, and ways to get other job offers, just in case.
Does the thought of transitioning into something new like business ownership excite you? Are you always coming up with ideas for improvement? Are you looking for something to do on the side?
In this episode, we will look at 3 different ways to go beyond the bedside using your nursing skills. Entrepreneurship is a big step, but there are ways to test the water and see if it is right for you.
One of my goals for this podcast is to open your eyes to different opportunities out there available for nurses and this week’s episode will do just that. We will talk about nurse intrapreneurship, nurse entrepreneurship, and nurse freelancer.
There are good companies and bad companies out there to work for.
Keep yourself marketable.
Relationships matter.
You never know when opportunity will knock.
Even in times like this, there’s a lot of good going in on the world. Focus on the good and in making this world a better place.
In recent weeks, we have all seen how quickly our work and our world can change. As healthcare workers, we all do our part. Some on the front lines, and some at a safe distance. But each one of us has an important role to play in this COVID19 pandemic. And what our clients need now, may be different than what they needed a few short weeks ago. Seeing people think outside the box, come up with solutions, and share it with others so that more people are helped, makes my heart really happy.
Although this was recorded during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the information provided is valuable at any time. While many nurses are working overtime in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic others are working from home, working fewer hours, or are no longer working.
#009 – Sometimes, by tweaking your way of thinking, you can turn your life around completely. I know because I’ve been there.
Today’s episode is inspired by a listener’s email. She asked what I had done in the past that didn’t work out, and how I pivoted and changed that. Thinking about it, the list is actually long. But this one stood out to me as something I want to share with you because it’s more of a mindset. Once I realized I was 100% responsible for my own job/career satisfaction, everything changed for me. It totally made a difference in the success of my nursing career.
I want you to be happy with your career. I want you to love your career. So in this episode, I want to share what I learned with you and how this simple mind shift change helped me. I’m hoping it can help you too.
